IAVA Storm the Hill Advocacy Week 2026

  • Monday, September 14, 2026
  • 8:00 AM
  • U.S. Capitol and Congressional Offices, Washington, DC

IAVA's Storm the Hill 2026 is the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America's annual legislative advocacy week in Washington, D.C., running September 14–17, 2026, bringing together post-9/11 veterans from across the country to meet directly with their U.S. Senators and Representatives to advocate for veteran priorities that matter most to the generation of warriors who fought America's longest wars. Storm the Hill is not a protest — it is democracy in action. IAVA veteran members arrive in Washington as citizen-advocates, trained and briefed on IAVA's current legislative priorities, and spend the week conducting meetings with congressional offices to build relationships, share personal stories, present IAVA's policy positions, and make the case for legislative action on behalf of the 3.5 million post-9/11 veterans who served since September 11, 2001. Policy priorities for the 2026 Storm the Hill include toxic exposure and PACT Act implementation monitoring, military sexual trauma survivor support legislation, mental health and suicide prevention funding, women veteran healthcare access, housing and homelessness programs, and ensuring that the VA has the resources and leadership to fulfill its obligation to this generation. IAVA provides full training, briefing materials, and logistical support to all participating members, including congressional meeting coordination and media opportunities. Veterans who have never engaged in advocacy work before are especially encouraged to participate — IAVA will give you the tools and confidence to speak powerfully on behalf of your brothers and sisters. Your voice is your weapon. Storm the Hill.
