The Blue H.E.L.P. Law Enforcement Mental Health Summit 2026, held October 15–17 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Georgia, is a critical three-day summit dedicated to confronting and reducing the epidemic of law enforcement officer suicide — a crisis that claims more officers' lives every year than line-of-duty deaths from violent crime and accidents combined. Blue H.E.L.P. (Honor. Educate. Lead. Prevent.) exists to acknowledge law enforcement officers who die by suicide in the line of duty, provide advocacy for those suffering from job-related mental illness, and reduce the stigma associated with mental health and help-seeking in law enforcement culture. The 2026 Summit brings together police chiefs, sheriffs, union leaders, peer support officers, police psychologists, chaplains, surviving family members, and mental health advocates for three days of research presentations, peer-led workshops, survivor testimony, and practical program development training. Sessions address the neuroscience of cumulative occupational trauma, early warning sign recognition, suicide-safe firearm storage programs, the role of leadership in suicide prevention, family impact and support, and creating departmental cultures where asking for help is a sign of strength rather than weakness. Atlanta's central location and world-class hotel facilities make this summit one of the most accessible on the national law enforcement calendar, drawing departments from the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest. Law enforcement agencies are strongly encouraged to send full peer support teams and command staff. Blue H.E.L.P. data, research, and advocacy have already influenced policy in dozens of states. The 2026 Summit will push that progress even further. Because every officer deserves to make it home — in every sense of that phrase.
