National Veterans Wheelchair Games 2026

The National Veterans Wheelchair Games 2026, co-hosted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Paralyzed Veterans of America at the Salt Palace Convention Center and venues across Salt Lake City, Utah from July 6–11, 2026, is the world's largest annual wheelchair sports competition exclusively for military veterans. Now in its fifth decade, the National Veterans Wheelchair Games brings together over 600 veteran wheelchair athletes from across the United States to compete in more than 20 sports including basketball, tennis, swimming, archery, softball, hand cycling, power chair football, and many more — all while demonstrating the extraordinary athletic capability, competitive spirit, and indomitable will that define America's veterans with disabilities. The Wheelchair Games are not merely a sports competition — they are a showcase of adaptive rehabilitation, a celebration of the human spirit's refusal to be limited by injury or disability, and a powerful statement that veterans who sacrificed their physical wholeness in service to this nation can still compete, excel, and inspire at the highest levels. Utah's outdoor recreation culture and the Salt Lake City metro's accessibility infrastructure make it an ideal host city for this premier adaptive sports event. All competitive events are free and open to the public — spectators are warmly encouraged to come watch, cheer, and be profoundly moved by what they witness. Volunteer opportunities are available for community members who want to participate in support roles. If you are a veteran with a spinal cord injury, TBI, amputation, or other physical disability and have never participated in adaptive sports, the Wheelchair Games welcome you. Come find your game. Come find your community. Come find yourself again.
