The Travis Manion Foundation 9/11 Heroes Run 2026 is a nationwide 5K run/walk event held on September 11, 2026 — the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks — at simultaneous events in dozens of cities across the United States and around the world, uniting tens of thousands of participants in a shared physical act of remembrance, gratitude, and commitment to the legacy of those who died on 9/11 and those who answered the call to serve in its aftermath. Named in honor of First Lieutenant Travis Manion, USMC, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2007 after volunteering for a second combat deployment following 9/11, the Heroes Run is rooted in Travis's belief that it is not enough to honor those who sacrifice — we must be inspired by their example to live our own lives as a character challenge. The 5K format welcomes runners, joggers, walkers, wheelchair users, active duty service members, veterans, police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and civilians of all ages and fitness levels. In the 25th anniversary year of 9/11, the run carries extraordinary historical and emotional weight — a generation of Americans who were children on that September morning will cross the finish line as veterans, first responders, and community leaders shaped by the defining event of their era. Virtual run options are also available for participants who cannot attend in person. All proceeds support the Travis Manion Foundation's veteran and first responder leadership development programs. Find your local 9/11 Heroes Run location, register your team, and cross that finish line on September 11, 2026 — carrying the load, honoring the fallen, and living the mission.
