Empath Health's Veterans Coffee Connections series continues its powerful mission in July 2026, offering veterans and their families in the Tampa Bay area a warm, welcoming, low-barrier gathering designed to build community, reduce isolation, and connect veterans with the healthcare, hospice, palliative care, and supportive services that Empath Health provides exclusively for those who have served. Veterans Coffee Connections is intentionally casual and community-centered — no formal agenda, no presentations, no pressure. Just coffee, conversation, and the powerful healing that happens when veterans sit in a room together and realize they are not alone. Empath Health's veteran-trained staff and volunteers are on hand to answer questions about healthcare navigation, advance care planning, hospice services for veteran families, and grief support resources, but the primary purpose of the event is human connection. Many veterans — particularly older veterans and those managing serious illness — face profound isolation and a disconnect from the brother and sisterhood they knew in service. These monthly gatherings are a lifeline. The July 2026 session will feature a special program on VA hospice benefits and survivor support services, but as always, the focus remains on the people in the room. Light refreshments are provided. The event is free and open to all veterans, regardless of discharge status, era of service, or branch. Spouses, caregivers, and family members are warmly welcome. Come for the coffee.
