The IACP Officer Safety and Wellness Conference 2026, presented by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, is the nation's foremost gathering dedicated to protecting and strengthening the men and women of law enforcement. Held in New Orleans, Louisiana in summer 2026, this conference convenes police chiefs, sheriffs, officers, wellness coordinators, peer support specialists, and mental health professionals to advance the field of law enforcement health and safety.
Law enforcement officers face extraordinary occupational hazards — from physical dangers in the line of duty to the cumulative psychological toll of years spent witnessing trauma, violence, and human suffering. The OSW Conference exists to ensure that the profession confronts these challenges with the same seriousness and strategic commitment it applies to crime reduction and community safety.
Conference programming covers the full spectrum of officer safety and wellness: physical health and injury prevention, mental health and resilience, suicide prevention and peer support, nutrition and fitness for shift workers, sleep health for officers, family wellness programs, departmental culture change, executive wellness leadership, and evidence-based intervention programs.
With IACP's global reach and credibility, the OSW Conference attracts leading researchers, practitioners, and advocates from across the country and internationally. Attendees leave equipped to build and sustain comprehensive wellness programs in their agencies — programs that save careers, preserve families, and protect the lives of the officers who protect ours.
New Orleans provides a vibrant, culturally rich backdrop for this important gathering. For any law enforcement leader or wellness professional committed to changing the culture around officer health, the IACP OSW Conference 2026 is an essential event.
