The DAV Winter Sports Clinic is one of the most anticipated annual events in the veteran community — a transformative week-long adaptive sports program set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Colorado Rockies in Snowmass Village. Hosted by the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), this clinic brings together hundreds of veterans with disabilities for an unforgettable experience of skiing, snowboarding, sled hockey, and mountain camaraderie.
For many veterans, this clinic represents far more than recreation. It's a chance to push past physical limitations, reconnect with the warrior spirit, and find brotherhood and sisterhood in a setting that demands courage and determination. Instructors are specially trained to work with veterans of all ability levels, including those with limb loss, vision impairment, traumatic brain injury, and PTSD.
The clinic runs April 4–11, 2026, giving participants a full week immersed in mountain air, adaptive sports technology, and the company of fellow heroes. DAV volunteers and staff provide one-on-one support on the slopes, ensuring every veteran feels safe, celebrated, and challenged.
Beyond the slopes, the clinic features evening social events, peer networking sessions, and mental wellness components that address the full spectrum of veteran needs. It's a place where service members who gave everything for this country can experience the thrill of flying down a mountain — a reminder that the mission isn't over, it just looks different now.
All expenses including lodging, meals, and instruction are covered for eligible veterans. Family member observers are welcome. The DAV Winter Sports Clinic has helped thousands of veterans reclaim their confidence and physical vitality since its inception. Don't miss this life-changing week in the mountains.
