The Oceana County Vet Day 5K is a small town run held each year on the first Saturday of November to support veterans living in Oceana County on Michigan's west side.
The race starts and finishes at the newly renovated Getty Park in Shelby. The route heads north on Industrial Drive and loops back along the Hart Montague Trail, a pleasant route that works well for runners, walkers, and families. Same day registration is available, so you can decide that morning and still join in.
All of the proceeds stay local. The money helps county veterans with rides to medical appointments, the food pantry, and other everyday needs that can be hard to meet in a rural area.
It is a simple, friendly way to mark Veterans Day weekend with your neighbors and make a real difference for the veterans who live right down the road.
