The VFW National Convention 2026, held at the Phoenix Convention Center July 18–22, 2026, is the most important annual gathering of the Veterans of Foreign Wars — the nation's largest and most powerful war veteran organization, representing over 1.5 million combat veterans and their families across more than 6,000 posts worldwide. The VFW National Convention is where America's combat veterans exercise their democratic voice: electing national leadership, debating and passing resolutions that become the VFW's legislative and advocacy priorities, receiving briefings from the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and senior DoD officials, honoring outstanding members and national award recipients, and conducting the essential business of an organization that has been fighting for veteran rights since 1899. Phoenix's world-class convention facilities and the Southwest's legendary hospitality make the 2026 convention an especially memorable gathering. The week-long event includes the formal business convention, the Ladies Auxiliary National Convention running concurrently, the VFW National Home for Children golf outing and fundraisers, a massive Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen scholarship program awards ceremony, a legislative review session with congressional representatives, and evening social events celebrating the VFW brotherhood. For delegates from all 50 states and U.S. territories, the National Convention represents the annual fulfillment of the VFW's mission: ensuring that no veteran is left behind in accessing the benefits, healthcare, recognition, and community they earned through their willingness to serve in combat. VFW members, auxiliary members, district and department representatives, and honored guests from across America will converge on Phoenix for one of the most consequential weeks in the veteran advocacy calendar.
