The AMVETS National Convention 2026 is the premier annual gathering of the American Veterans organization — one of the nation's oldest and most respected veteran service organizations, representing veterans of all eras and all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. Held August 10–13, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, this multi-day convention brings together AMVETS members, veteran advocates, and supporters from across the nation for legislative business, fellowship, and a shared commitment to veterans' rights.
Founded in 1944 by veterans returning from World War II, AMVETS has spent over eight decades fighting for veterans' benefits, healthcare, employment, and recognition. The National Convention is where that fight is organized, energized, and directed — with delegates from state and local posts casting votes on resolutions, electing national leadership, and charting the course for AMVETS advocacy in the coming year.
Beyond the business sessions, the National Convention is a celebration of veteran community. Events include the National Convention Parade, the National Commander's Banquet, a ladies' auxiliary program, youth scholarship ceremonies, service organization partnership meetings, and extensive networking among veterans from every state in the union.
Louisville, Kentucky — a city with deep military heritage and Southern hospitality — provides a warm and welcoming home for this important gathering. The Hyatt Regency's central downtown location puts attendees steps away from Louisville's vibrant waterfront, world-famous restaurants, and the storied history of the Kentucky Derby.
All AMVETS members, veteran supporters, and allies of the veteran community are encouraged to attend. The National Convention is democracy in action for those who served democracy in uniform.
