The NAEMSP Annual Meeting is the main yearly gathering for the doctors and leaders who guide emergency medical services. EMS physicians, medical directors, paramedics, nurses, researchers and agency leaders spend a week in Austin, Texas in January 2027 working on how prehospital care can get better.
The meeting includes educational sessions, workshops and research presentations on the clinical questions EMS crews face every day, from cardiac arrest and trauma care to protocols, quality improvement and system design. Exhibitors show new equipment and technology aimed at the field.
It is also where people who shape EMS policy and medical oversight meet face to face, compare results and build working relationships that last well past the conference.
What comes out of this week often finds its way into the protocols and training that ambulance crews use on real calls. Better science and better leadership in EMS mean better outcomes for patients on the worst day of their lives.
