The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk Trinity Pasco takes place at Starkey Ranch District Park in Odessa, bringing the Tampa Bay area's north suburbs together to remember September 11 and the first responders who answered the call.
The race honors FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller, who ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel with his gear on his back to reach the Twin Towers. Today, runners, walkers, strollers, and local fire and police crews follow in his footsteps on a 5K course through the park.
Funds raised help the Tunnel to Towers Foundation pay off mortgages for families of fallen first responders and service members, and build mortgage free smart homes for severely injured veterans.
