• Ask early. Training budgets are often set months ahead. Put spring 2027 conferences in your request now.
• Tie it to certification. Many sessions count toward continuing education hours. List them in your request.
• Offer to report back. Agree to brief your crew or shift on what you learned. It makes the next request easier.
• Look for scholarships. Many associations offer registration grants for smaller departments and volunteers.
